ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (ADJUNCT)/PROFESSOR (ADJUNCT) - YALE SCHOOL OF DRAMA
The Yale School of Drama is seeking a dynamic lecturer to design and teach a yearly course in theater history at the graduate level. The course, a cornerstone of the School of Drama curriculum, is required of students in all disciplines. The successful applicant may come from the profession or the academy, and will have demonstrated excellence in his/her field and experience addressing a group with diverse interests and abilities. The School of Drama is interested in a lecture course that surveys topics in theatre history from the ancient Greeks through the 20th century, providing rising practitioners a dynamic connection between tradition and present day practice. The appointment will be as an Associate Professor (Adjunct) or Professor (Adjunct) and will be for the term of one to three years beginning July 1, 2008, renewable, and includes competitive salary with full faculty benefits. ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (ADJUNCT)/PROFESSOR (ADJUNCT) OF DRAMATURGY AND DRAMATIC CRITICISM PROGRAM, YALE SCHOOL OF DRAMA
Reporting to the Chair of the Yale School of Drama (YSD) Dramaturgy and Dramatic Criticism Program, this position requires an experienced individual to teach classes in dramatic theory and other seminars in their area of expertise. In addition, individual will advise MFA dramaturgy and dramatic criticism students in matters concerning academic progress, comprehensive exams and professional development, as well as supporting the Chair in maintaining the curriculum, participating in the admissions process and attending department meetings. Applicants should have demonstrated excellence in the field with at least seven years’ experience teaching preferably at the graduate and doctoral level, extensive publications resume and experience in mentoring. An understanding of the School’s conservatory environment and the professional theater is essential. The appointment will be as an Associate Professor (Adjunct) or Professor (Adjunct) and will be for the term of one year beginning July 1, 2008, renewable as multi-year appointment, and includes competitive salary with full faculty benefits. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (ADJUNCT)/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (ADJUNCT) IN SOUND DESIGN AT THE YALE SCHOOL OF DRAMA; DIRECTOR OF THE LAURIE BEECHMAN CENTER FOR SOUND DESIGN AND MUSIC
Reporting to the Chair of the Yale School of Drama (YSD) Sound Design program, this position requires an experienced teacher in music, composition and sound design to teach in the three-year conservatory (MFA program). Also responsible for overseeing all aspects of the running of the sound design production studios at the Laurie Beechman Center for Sound Design and Music. Applicants should have significant professional and teaching experience in the field of composition and sound design, demonstrated leadership in the field with strong mentoring, management, communication and leadership skills. The appointment will be as an Assistant Professor (Adjunct) or Associate Professor (Adjunct) for the term of one to three years beginning July 1, 2008, renewable, and includes competitive salary with full faculty benefits.
