Lecturer in Theater Management

ANDREA NELLIS, Lecturer in Theater Management, is a consultant providing financial and administrative services to both nonprofit and for-profit organizations, specializing in the performing arts.  She is an experienced Nonprofit Administrator with over 25 years of service at NYC’s major cultural institutions.  Mostly recently, she was the Managing Director of New York City Opera.  Prior to NYC Opera, Ms. Nellis was the General Manager and Chief Financial Officer of the Public Theater, managing day-to-day operations of a seven-performance space organization.  In addition, Ms. Nellis has held positions at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, BAM Local Development Corporation, Brooklyn Philharmonic and Berkeley Repertory Theatre. Clients of her consulting firm include Dorrance Dance, New York Live Arts, the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, the Mint Theater Company, NAMCO (Broadway Producer), Arthouse Interactive Inc., SPOTCO, and the American Academy in Rome. She provides a diverse range of services including financial management, administration oversight, strategic planning and project management. Ms. Nellis holds an MFA in Theater Management from the Yale School of Drama and a BFA in Stage Management from Boston University.
