Michael Backhaus

Lecturer in Sound Design and Technical Design and Production & Sound Supervisor

Michael Backhaus is the Sound Supervisor for Yale School of Drama and Yale Repertory Theater. In his 15 years in live entertainment he has served in a sound supervisory role for more than 500 productions and live events, ranging from theater to classical music and rock n roll. Mike teaches classes in sound engineering in the Sound Design and Technical Design and Production departments. He holds a BA in Music from Stony Brook University (2009) and an MFA in Technical Design and Production from Yale School of Drama (2013).
