Richard Rauscher

Lecturer in Stage Management

Richard C. Rauscher has been a stage manager for over 30 years, working predominantly in New York on Broadway shows such as Spring Awakening, The Boy From Oz, Everyday Rapture, Festen, The Full Monty, The Goat, Titanic, and the revival of Bells Are Ringing.He was a Resident Stage Manager for the New York City Opera at Lincoln Center, a stage manager for the Public Theatre/New York Shakespeare Festival's productions of Mother Courage and Twelfth Night in Central Park, and was Production Stage Manager on the Off-Broadway productions of The Great American Trailer Park Musical and Everyday Rapture.  Richard is currently a staff stage manager for Radio City Music Hall, and in the past thirteen years with them has worked on their annual Christmas Spectacular, their New York Spectacular, a multitude of popular concerts and awards ceremonies, Zarkana, their joint venture with Cirque du Soleil, and three seasons of live broadcasts of America‚Äôs Got Talent.  In addition, he was a Resident Stage Manager for the Ordway Music Theatre in St. Paul, the Paper Mill Playhouse in New Jersey, and the Orlando Shakespeare Festival in Florida.  His regional opera work includes The Washington Opera, Opera Company of Philadelphia, Wolf Trap Opera Company, and the National Grand Opera.  National Tours include Miss Saigon and The Wizard of Oz.  Television broadcasts include Live from Lincoln Center, The Tony Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, and CBS Sports.  He taught Stage Management in the MFA Program at the University of California, San Diego, for several years prior to teaching at the Yale School of Drama.
