The Studio Series productions are designed to be learning experiences that complement classroom work, providing a medium for students at Yale School of Drama to combine their individual talents and energies toward the staging of collaboratively created works. Your attendance meaningfully completes that process.

There is a house in the distance. The sea air rattles its walls. The women in its keep take care to lock the doors and windows. Lady, its mistress, has taken to sleeping on the kitchen floor; a knife at her side. The other women, young but strong, rehearse their routines and wait for the moment when once a year, a crowd gathers outside to watch a curtain lift on their window. But this year the locks break, the windows open, and the outer dark comes inside. the friendship of her thighs is a dangerous new play about a family of women who can no longer keep the world at bay.
