Nora Hyland

Lecturer in Technical Design & Production

Nora is currently in her third season as Assistant Technical Director at the McCarter Theatre in Princeton, New Jersey. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts from Boston College. In 2005, she joined the staff at Yale Repertory Theatre as Assistant Scenic Artist, where she worked on over 50 shows, including acting as Scenic Charge for the 2008 & 2009 Carlotta Festivals and Battle of Black and Dogs in 2010. In the fall of 2010, she returned to Yale as an MFA candidate in the TD&P program. Upon completion of her coursework in 2013, Nora took a job as Assistant Technical Director at Princeton University’s Lewis Center for the Arts. She has been at her current position at the McCarter since 2015. Nora’s freelance career includes stints as the Technical Director at Totem Pole Playhouse and New York Stage and Film, Props Master at New York Stage and Film, and as a scenic artist at theatres throughout the northeast, including Connecticut Repertory Theatre, the Hangar Theatre, Glimmerglass Opera, Hartford Stage, Global Scenic Studios, Elm Shakespeare Company, New York Stage and Film, and Totem Pole Playhouse.
