Steven Skybell

Lecturer in Acting

Steven Skybell grew up in Lubbock, Texas where his first Shakespeare production was in elementary school; he starred and directed in a production of Romeo and Juliet. His first Shakespeare training was at the renowned Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Yale College, 1984; a certificate in Acting from the British American Drama Academy, Bailliol College in Oxford, 1984; and a Master of Fine Arts from Yale School of Drama, 1988. Steven has performed all over the world including Broadway, Shakespeare's Globe in London, and the Saito Kinen Festival in Tokyo, Japan. He is the recipient of an OBIE award and a Helen Hayes award nomination. He has taught acting at Harvard, Yale, Fordham, The Public Theater and HB Studios in New York City.
